What we send
Two kinds of email leave our domains:
- Account email to people who signed up for AmpSketch: a welcome message, a few short onboarding tips during the first two weeks, a note before a free trial ends, and billing receipts. These go only to the address used to create the account.
- Introductory email to engineers, technicians, and firm owners who do electrical field documentation, arc flash data collection, or power system studies. These are short, plain-text messages from Alex Woodhams, PE, the founder, introducing the product and asking whether it is relevant to their work. They are sent in small daily volumes, never in bulk blasts.
Who we send it to
Introductory email goes only to business addresses at engineering firms, electrical testing companies (including NETA member firms), electrical contractors, and facility engineering departments. We build these lists ourselves from public professional engineering license registries, professional association directories, and company websites. We do not purchase lists, and we do not scrape social networks.
We do not send introductory email to personal addresses at consumer providers such as Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook.com, AOL, or iCloud. In August 2026 we found that some public registry records listed personal addresses, and we removed every such address from our lists before resuming any sending. If one slipped through, a reply with the word unsubscribe removes it permanently.
The rules we follow
Every message we send complies with the United States CAN-SPAM Act and with the anti-spam requirements of Google Workspace, our email provider:
- The From name and address identify the real sender (Alex Woodhams at AmpSketch) and the reply address is monitored by a person.
- Subject lines describe the content of the message. No deception, no fake replies, no fake forwards.
- Every message says who it is from and includes clear opt-out instructions.
- Opt-out requests are honored promptly, well inside the ten business days the law allows, and we never charge for or condition an opt-out.
- Once you opt out, we do not sell, share, or transfer your address to anyone else.
- We do not use open tracking or link tracking in introductory email.
- We authenticate all sending domains with SPF, DKIM, and DMARC.
Our sending domains
Email from AmpSketch comes from ampsketch.com and from a small number of secondary domains we own and control for outreach: getampsketch.com, tryampsketch.com, and demoampsketch.com. All of them are run by the same person, follow this same policy, and forward to the same inbox. Any message claiming to be from AmpSketch that does not come from one of these domains is not from us.
